Intel ME OS is Minix3 -Google wants Linux

17.11.6: news.cyb/sec/Intel Mgt Engine OS is Minix3 while Google wants Linux:
2018: summary:
. below the OS level is hypervisor,
and below hypervisor level is
the ME (mgt engine).
. it allows the maker of the pc
to do updates even when power seems off,
as long as there is internet.
. the ME uses the secure Minix OS kernel,
but also includes a web browser,
and other huge amounts of functionality
that you can't get the bugs out of,
so Google suggests replacing it with
a Linux kernel and less functionality.
. this has the potential to be a back door
with which the national security agencies
can better protect us from terrorists
and others who take advantage of privacy.

#encryption export controls #Logjam

5.27: news.cyb/sec/encryption export controls/Logjam:
arstechnica:
The new attack has been dubbed Logjam,
( the name is a pun on the "discrete log"
math operation used to break the weak keys.
But the name is also an allusion to the fact that
these '90s-era export ciphers are part of an
immense amount of technical debt
that's built up in our crypto protocols,"
"There's just too much dead wood that's accumulated over the years."
)
The weakness is the result of export restrictions
the US government mandated in the 1990s
to enable less secure encryption for foreigners
so the FBI and NSA could eavesdrop on them .

"g-d" as the voice of community survival

1.29: relig/god/the voice of community survival:
. when we say of a work, "god said that",
or "god had the prophets or the son say that"
we mean that work supports a plan that is
in the best interest of your community or the world,
or something your common sense will agree with
given you are sufficiently educated
to think about the spirit of the law .
2.9:

when there can be false prophets?

who wrote that constitution? #childcare

1.19: co.self/dream/psy/who wrote that constitution?:
. in this dream,
I was really excited to be in the presence of
someone who helped write our new constitution;
I went over to him and asked:
"is it true that you helped write the constitution?"
. then our shared voice gave me a nudge, saying:
"when you put it like that
to a guy who looks a bit odd,
then you seem to be asking
why that job wasn't done by someone photogenic" .

USA intel has SOA on High-Security Internet

9.11: news.cyb/sec/USA intel has SOA on High-Security Internet:
Sept. 11, 2013
Al Tarasiuk, intelligence community CIO
and assistant director of national intelligence .
. the IC ITE ( Intelligence Community
Information Technology Enterprise )
is a new IT environment that will
vastly improve information sharing
across the intelligence community .

. consolidating IT across the community
was driven by budget considerations.
But today,
it's more than an efficiency play on IT:
intelligence integration,
information sharing and safeguarding .
. that translates into 3 goals:
1: effectiveness,
2: security
3: efficiency .
"In the past, these were mutually exclusive,
but now we'll have more of all 3 goals
because of cloud technologies,
and a [SOA (service-oriented architecture)]

providing an IC cloud not on the Internet,
but privately hosted on TS|SCI networks
(top secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information)
[18:
. high-security wide-area networks are
connected by Tesla beam transmissions,
which unlike fiber optic cable,
can be transmitted wirelessly,
and are very difficult to intercept .

but they've used it to communicate with submarines,
and a chinese-american collaboration is developing it .]

healthcare, christians, devils, & dollars

7.1: co.apt/pol/healthcare/
christians against obamacare are not middle class:. a born-again -furious child is chanting:
"( everyone needs to **** !! ),
[a word that can humorously mean both
{ practice birth control
, grumble incessantly}]

 . hearing this child has me kidding about
obamacare pressuring us to eat right;
but seriously, the problem with our economy
is the unfair christian,
demanding we have freedom of diet*
yet also demanding we subsidize
medicalization of bad diets
with emergency room care that is paid for
on the backs of middle class insurance payers
-- not paid by the poor and rich
where most christians come from .
* [9.27: to be fair:
. christians don't necessarily agree with
freedom of diet;
in fact, gluttony is a "(deadly 7) sin .]

7.5: co.apt/pol/healthcare/
how could they hate obamacare?:
. how could the masses hate obamacare?
do they know how the middle class
is getting gouged by mandatory e.r. care?
[9.27:
. most who still have jobs don't pay healthcare,
and that's exactly why fewer of us have jobs!
. after seeing the steeply rising trend of
healthcare benefits due to free e.r. care,
employers are outsourcing our jobs
to countries with more sensible policies .]

7.8: todo.web/pol/healthcare/obamacare assumes
everyone is getting healthcare through insurance!

. I thought the whole point of needing to use the ER,
is that doctor's and hospitals wouldn't let you pay
except through an insurance agency .

7.18: co.apt/healthcare/obamacare won't keep costs down:
. did you know we give $25 billion to diabetics?
 . just a five % decrease in diabetes
 could save an estimated $25 billion every year!
. that's a lot of money,
 and things like dialysis are inately expensive,
 but did you see how much our doctors cost?
 could we get them to take $40k  instead of $400k?
 we could hire 10times more of them,
 and give them a needed break . no way!
 obamacare couldn't even get them to
 agree to at least getting paid only
 relative to their worth:
 by how much they improved health
 rather than how many scripts they wrote .
 . you know why?
 because we are ***heads!
 [@] {arrogantly gluttonous, like drug fiends}
 . the doctors know that wellness starts with
 patients who listen to "(you need a diet)
 but they know patients ignore such advice
 and then demand a pill for their problems .
 -- how can you make any money
 getting paid to make the ***head well ?!

7.12: co.apt/pol/healthcare/
cheaper doctor is complicated
:

. finding a cheaper doctor is complicated:
they are not just healers but drug police;
and, high trust is expensive;
eg, suppose we get laborers to be doctors;
if they abuse drugs and lose their medical license
they just go back to being laborers;
but make doctors high,
and they will fall hard .
. another thing that raises cost is that they are
only getting paid if they share air with you?
that's not a very smart use of a rare resource:
they should be seeing patients by video
to do most of the interviews;
how often do you really need
a physical exam? consider this:
if doctors would just get to know
you, your habits, and listen
to your perceived problems,
they might have your problems solved
without having to share your germs .
[9.27:
. one way to lower the cost of interviews,
is to get college students to do the them;
they can write the doctor a report,
and the doctor can add to the report
after making an additional, shorter interview .
. also, you can call any time
to add things to your file,
and a nurse will do just that
and read back what was written .]

7.19: news.pol/healthcare/
Rush speechless about Canada's success:

. Rush's Limbaugh's agenda today
includes informing us that
while usa wealth slides,
canada's wealth has risen
-- now higher than usa's --
but he has no comment on this news?
nothing to say about gluttonous socialists, Rush?
. could it be that universal healthcare
was very good for Canadian business?!
ha!

7.26: news.pol/healthcare/
a doctor's take on care's high cost:

the people who profit from healthcare.
(more)
. there are a number of overfed cats in health care
who are being given all the food they meow for.
Here are a few examples:
# Drug companies:
If government and private insurers
were not paying for most of the drug costs,
we wouldn’t buy most medications
-- the full price is impossibly high.
Even many generics are over $100 per month.
Would you trade a $500K payment from gov
for a $20K check from the consumer?
No more than my cat would turn down
the third bowl of cat food.
# Hospitals:
Stents ‘R Us hospital in our town
just built a large cardiology wing
They did this using money from a procedure
that has not been shown
to prolong life or save lives.
# Ancillary Services:
Why does a CT scan in India
cost a fraction of the cost in the U.S.?
because they can be, due to third-party payors
who shield consumers from the cost .
They pass them on to the taxpayers
or raise the rates of the insurance policies.
It doesn’t hurt them to pay so much,
so they just keep feeding the kitty.
# Doctors:
Why do docs see so many patients
that they can’t offer good care,
and why do specialists take home
3/4 of a $million ? Because they can.
Someone keeps filling the bowl.

. the third-party payor system
hides the cost from the consumer
and gets us all used to the idea of
paying for all that cat food.
All of this money is thrown at care,
and what does it get us?
Does it get us better care?
Does it get us longer lives?
Does it get us happier patients,
or satisfied doctors?
-- Rob Lamberts, MD,
is an internal medicine-pediatrics physician
who blogs at More Musings (of a Distractible Kind).
7.26: co.apt/pol/healthcare/3rd-party payer syndrome
started with medicaid and nixon's cheap food program:

( reviewing 6.20: news.pol/purges/reaganomics/
republican nixon criticized for price-raising trade barriers)
. could anyone ruin this country more than nixon?
 trying to beat inflation with cheap food
he had devastated the food quality;
at the same time,
he had just started to give away
free medical (medicaid) to welfare cases;
and that is when people's health
went straight down the toilet
even as health care costs
were going straight up .
[. medicaid is what started that culture of
3rd-party payer syndrome
where they can ask for any price, because,
the person that actually pays is the taxpayer
who doesn't even see
how the money is being spent,
while the medicaid consumer
knows how it is spent,
but has no idea how much is spent .
. the politician apparently doesn't care
because the corporate profits translate into
both corporate taxes and campaign contributions .

an app that alerts you to drone strikes

8.30: news.cyb/dev.iOS/
an app that alerts you to drone strikes:

. npr just said that the Apple app store
recently disallowed an app that would
ring you for each drone strike?

. I can understand why Apple would make such a stand;
they shouldn't be put in the position of
ok'ing another's political speech
in what amounts to their work place .
. would you go on about drones at your workplace ?
some might think that unpatriotic
and some might agree drones are not right
but not want their chain pulled during work .
. we all have to get along at work;
there is plenty of time for free speech afterwards .

. we need a generic version of the same thing:
an app that interfaces a news site
where you can get rings for
your personal search results;
eg, it could be integrated with google's alert service,
which sends emails to you
whenever some search of interest to you
comes up with another hit .
. in this integration,
it could ring your idevice instead of emailing you .

who's economy? obama's or private parenting?

5.29: co.apt/pol/purges/reaganomic/
neolib's are not job creators:
. I am a neolib, and I'm just warning you,
if you think romney is about jobs,
both the repub's and the dem's are also neolibs
giving your jobs to the needy globally;
so, if you give them a tax break,
they are only giving more jobs to india and china .
. just remember, you're the 60% who actually
owns something in america besides a birth certificate
-- crappy commoners .
5.10: news.pol/purges/reaganomics/
it's obama's economy:

andy dean conservative radio:
. he has this subservient lesbian sidekick
who when asked what she thought of
obama's lackluster economy,
said she doesn't believe in the 99%
-- said a person's job prospects are
up to the individual;
so it doesn't matter what obama did .
. the 99% is hiding the elephant of overpopulation,
and that is indefensible;
but, why isn't an obama supporter like herself
pointing out that the economy has
nothing to do with the president?
. obama isn't even allowed to touch
the root cause of our unemployment
which is globalized capitalism
-- that is nothing less than the unstoppable
perfection of the american way!
. if you believe in capitalism at all,
you believe in eventual automation,
so you must believe in massive unemployment
-- inevitably!
so stop dreaming about economic expansion,
and think about the homeless you generate
breeding like you want to .

great (ubiquitous) satan

Gold Digger [Explicit]4.30: adds/relig/we cause them:
. that character singing
"(I ain't saying she's a gold digger)
why did he expect her to work ?
otoh,
why did she expect him to separate ?
-- you can't sort it out;
you need to admit
that when they're both
cheating each other
is cheating the kids;
hey! we're cheating the kids !
. we caused "(them) . we can finish it ... (5.2:
by demanding that parenting is not private;
parenting is done by communes .)

co.apt/adds/relig/[address: one great satan]:
Hustler's P.O.M.E. (Product Of My Environment)
. from listening to a song about
how many G$ our prostitution makes,
I became convinced that we need
a complete paper trail!
. all you white collars
are you really worth all this money
for ... whatever for ..
crack & disease-spread
-- not to mention our being
responsible for this:
we don't seem to have a problem with
over'pop or under employment
or parents under educating;
because,
we have such resourceful ways of
creating "(real value) .
at the expense of others .

conservatives agree:
. americans are the great satan ?
whats wrong, really?
we're not paying attention to the
real way that psychology works:
. the ways of usa's culture
may work now,
but it can't work forever
(due to overpopulation),
and even the voice of conservatives
will soon be saying we need
more compassionate control
-- much more .

america, beautiful!:
. everyone in usa is a potential satan
because,
religion is not an option;
it's the future,
and if you have a problem with it
you should be adapting it to meet that future;
uh, yea,
that is usa's problem
how they got "(great satan)!
(5.2: the way usa adapted religion
it is pathetically diluted
in order to look good while also
protecting cohesion at all costs
-- even if that means protecting privacy .
. if it makes money it makes good
no matter what it did to your job
or even your culture!)
--
if they had christ's all-included policy
they would have accepted islam's corrections;
muslims aren't anti-jesus christ at all;
just anti - militant ch'istian mythology .

5.1: drugs are untrackable money:
. the problem with money tracking is that
drugs can be used as currency;
the people who make drugs
have a virtual money printing press
for buying not only sex
but also stolen goods
and any other illegal service .
. our life must be arranged with more security
it should not be so easy to steal,
and how people spend their time should be public
or at least not private .

5.1: you ignore the way:
. for the unwilling prostitutes
of india -- and even america --
you know the way is wicked,
and you know the folks who want it (5.2:
everyone who reserves privacy rights).

#usa #child #care gemini policy saves innocents

2.25: news.care/children/day care needs 2 adults:
. one benefit of modern life's specialization of duties
How Modernity Forgetsis that we can add safety features
that could be absent in practical self-employment
such as watching one's own children .
. one of the glaring problems of a
2-parent family
is that while one parent is off working,
that leaves only one other parent
watching children;
and, if anything happens to the watcher,
the children's safety could be in
immediate danger
(how often do unattended children
drown in pools or buckets in the usa?)
. having houses specializing in day care
The Secret Knowledge of Water: There Are Two Easy Ways to Die in the Desert: Thirst and Drowningcould provide an economical dual watcher
where even if one is busy in the bathroom
the other could still be watching children .
. it may not be politically feasable to demand
that nuclear families always double up;
but, at least in the case of licensed day care
we could have a rule that
2 responders be present;
one adult, and the other at least able to complete
some first responder course .
. 24 Feb 2011:
3 children killed, 4 injured by smoke in day care:
. lone operator at Jackie's Child Care, Tata, 22,
had also lived at the 4-bedroom since April 2009
(2810 Crest Park Lane Dr, Houston, TX, Earth
-- near South Eldridge Parkway and Richmond ).
. the fire started in the kitchen
while she was in the bathroom,
though Tata and investigators have no idea how .
. Vera Thompkins, a pastor who has
known Jessica Rene Tata for many years,
said Tata's daily activities for the children include
Beginner's Bible, The not only feeding and crayons,
but also a Bible study;
the pastor also said "(I didn't have
a good feeling about that house
— I really didn't),
perhaps indicating a belief that
faulty wiring
might have been the fire starter .

. Texas regulations allow
no more than 6 preschoolers (under 18 months of age)
(12 children total) to be day-cared in any 24-hour period;
whereas 7 preschoolers were found there;
(ages 18 months to 3 years).
When Panic Attacks: The New, Drug-Free Anxiety Therapy That Can Change Your Life. Tata, with memory fogged by panic,
wasn't sure of the current attendance;
and was worried there were 9 preschoolers
to be accounted for;
but, 2 of them hadn't shown up that day .
. the day care was licensed just last March;
inspectors had held things up for a week
because owners were unaware
that regulations required a fire extinguisher,
and a carbon monoxide detector .
First Alert CO615 Carbon Monoxide Plug-In Alarm with Battery Backup and Digital Display
. the Feb. 24 inspection records
show that both deficiencies were corrected;
though, inspectors visually verified only the fire extinguisher;
the same was not said
of the carbon monoxide detector
(the only 2nd watcher in this case).

. forced outside of the fire by smoke,
Tata was yelling frantically,
"My kids, my kids, pray for them!"
. perhaps the 2nd watcher in the sky
is urging us to get serious about some automation .

Jon Justice sneers at sure justice

3.24: news.pol/jon justice sneers at sure justice:
. ironic how Jon Justice radio show
sneers at sure justice:
speeder-catching cam's are
"(the gov't watching you!)
. but perhaps the real point is that
speed limits are an obnoxious democracy
imposed where consensus could have worked:
eg, consensus would be where
your taxes pay for the roads with
the speed*mass you want:
. the most practical way is to
restructure our city planning
as gated communities that minimize commuting
by use of work-based residences .
. everything you need can be biked to
or trucked in with an internet sale .
. the shop docks are at the wall to minimize truck traffic,
the walls are composed of doughnut strip malls .
. then people can drive between these gated communities
at any speed they want .

3.22: pol/teach a man to ... "(oh, fish!):
windows7sins.org:

Teach him how to fish

) .

police are human beings

3.22: pol/drug war/police are human beings:

. what was that police officer thinking
when he said drug laws help catch
other criminals?
drug laws single-handedly create
so much heavy crime! [3.28: well, combined with
the use of anonymous cash and privacy rights ...]

. we need to legalize sales,
then have drug testing for
places where it matters .
. if your drugs violate your job,
you lose your job;
if your drugs are used while driving,
you get jailed .
. another option is going cashless:
use smartcards so that drug trades
are not anonymous .
. a problem then is bartering, eg,
human trafficking to support drug exchanges .

. robotic scanners in cars

. public scanning can keep drug use private .
. police are humans; they don't
stand a chance with that cowboy job
against militant drug gangs .
. if there's no reason to

there's no reason to prevent drug use .

3.23: pol/surface oriented architecture:
. "(service) sounds like "(surface);
and the significance of that freudian slip
is esp'ly revealed by the term "(service member)
used in the context of service in war;
as in military policies that routinely use soldiers
like skin, where dead cells are used as shields .
