how digestive enzymes reduce #inflammation

10.30: news.health/diet/enzymes/digestive enzymes reduce inflammation?:
12.31:summary:
. several doctors say enzymes reduce inflammation;
but they are talking about different types?
Dr.Mercola says your best source is raw food
and calorie restriction;
but Dr.Bob Martin promotes a supplement
that contains various proteolytic enzymes
and other digestive enzymes.
. the idea I got from researching
Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride's
Guts and Psychology Syndrome (GAPS) diet:
was that certain infections (candida?)
can inhibit production of digestive enzymes
so that more food is not absorbed by you
and is thus available to the infection;
this infection can be a source of inflammation
when your immune system attacks it;
so, the cure is to replace the enzymes
and go on a diet that inhibits infections
(no sugar, and low glycemic).
. if the infection is removed inflammation is reduced,
and, digestive enzyme supplements can be discontinued.
. if you tend to eat out of a blender,
keep in mind that the act of chewing
is a major source of some digestive enzymes.

#Crohn's disease #saccharin #sucralose

1.14: web.med/crohn's disease:
summary:
. Crohn's disease, also known as regional enteritis,
is a type of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD);
which can increase the risk of cancer.
. the cause is officially unknown; but,
lifestyle choices that raise risk include
# saccharin or sucralose
# oral contraceptives,
# smoking or 2nd-hand smoke
# diets that provoke yeast or fungal overgrowth
(high in sugar or refined carb's;
or low in fiber that feed bacteria
that compete with yeasts)
# aluminum pollution in urban areas.
# low vitamin D
# nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
# prior use of antibiotics
(often killing the good germs results in
the growth of bad germs after antibiotics are discontinued;
IBD may be the immune system's response to a certain germ;
some are cured with a fecal transplant(good germs);
some go into remission on antibiotics.
. the GAPS diet might also work as an antibiotic:
it is a high-fat low-prebiotic diet that removes bad germs
followed by a fermented diet that adds good germs).
. being left-handed, you might be more inclined
to choose a lifestyle that increases risk.

Dr.Mercola cured toenail fungus with sandals

17: news.med/toenail fungus
/Dr.Mercola cured toenail fungus with sun and saltwater:
Dr.Mercola didn't need oil on his toes:
I have also struggled with fungal infections
and never found a prescription or natural approach to work
until I started spending my winters
in the subtropics wearing no shoes and
having my toenails receive hours of direct sun exposure
every day [he mentions salt water helped too,
and don't forget the extra bacteria
that compete with the fungus ].
The UV rays were more than enough to solve the problem.
This does take 4-6 months though
of nearly daily sun exposure to work,
in combination with wearing sandals most of the time
so there is no moist environment for the fungus to grow.
One way to reduce your risk of fungal infections
is to cut down on sugar, which feeds the fungi.
[ but Mercola was already doing that
when he developed a fungal infection .]

#trehalose is not a #slowcarb !

12.1: health/hormonics/#trehalose is not a #slowcarb !:
. trehalose should be presented as
a healthy alternative to popular sugars
(which includes not only sucrose,
but also high-fructose corn syrup);
however,
the reason it is a better sweetener
is not because it is digested more slowly
but because it has no fructose
-- and nothing could be healthier
than ending the use of high-dose fructose .
. it also has some other health benefits .

trehalose is hardly a #slowcarb:
. when compared to pure glucose
its raising of blood sugar levels
is 33% lower than pure glucose,
(isn't that an index of 66? -- like bread!)
and the extent to which it raises insulin
is only 14% lower than pure glucose
-- that is hardly in the zone!
. also keep in mind the risks of
genetically modified foods;
trehalose comes from maltodextrins;*
and "most maltodextrin is manufactured from corn"
and of course,
USA corn is mostly GM (genetically modified) .
. I'm not sure anything is wrong with GM sugar
but I can't be sure about the dangers of GM
because the science is corrupted by Big Money,
-- and by Big Religion:
we need to keep feeding a population
that won't stop growing !

yeast infections love trehalose:
. after tsp/4 trehalose before bed,
I woke up with an inflamed mouth
which I understand was a mild yeast infection,
since I'm quite prone to that .

. but that could happen on trehalose itself,
not just the breakdown into glucose,
since the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae
can use trehalose as a carbon source for growth;
and, Candida albicans synthesizes Trehalose
in order to avoid stress-induced apoptosis,
so perhaps that yeast also can grow in trehalose .

. yeast is usually controlled by bacteria,
so I will mix the trehalose in my peas,
where I keep the probiotics .
. that will lower the glycemic index too!

* trehalose from maltodextrins:
"In 1994, two patents were issued by
Hayashibara Biochemical Laboratories Inc. (Okyama, Japan)
disclosing a novel non-reducing
saccharide forming enzyme
(maltooligosyl trehalose synthase,
MTSase; EC 5.4.99.15)
and a trehalose releasing enzyme
(maltooligosyl trehalose trehalohydrolase,
MTHase; EC 3.2.1.141)
obtainable from the culture of
microorganisms such as Rhizobiumsp. M-11
and Arthrobacter sp. Q 36 ...
The first enzyme acts on reducing maltodextrins
having a polymerisation degree (DP) higher than three
and catalyses the conversion of the α-1,4 linkage
at the reducing end to an α-1,1,
the second enzyme specifically acts on
the α-1,4 linkage adjacent to the α-1,1
liberating trehalose and a
lower molecular weight maltooligosaccharide
[ an oligosaccharide derived from glucose monomers
linked as in maltose;
maltose is converted to glucose by maltase.]
...
The enzymatic synthesis of trehalose
is currently obtained using the
MTSase and the MTHase described above
by Hayashibara Biochemical Laboratories Inc"

the first ever Food Revolution Day

5.19: co.fb#applegatefarms/health/
the first ever Food Revolution Day:
A day to spread awareness and knowledge
about healthy eating!
Are any of you joining or hosting an event?
see vid.
me:
. thanks for supporting Food Revolution Day .
. the important thing with meat is
certifying no grains were fed,
unless the animal is a natural grain eater
(eg, grasshoppers, crickets, other insects)
. I would also want an annual sanity test
that included 3rd-party dioxin testing;
if the animal is sitting high on the food chain
(from being fish entrails for instance)
then this may show up in a dioxin test .
. for economics, I would start by
feeding organic grain to grasshoppers or crickets
and then try feeding pressure-cooked beans and insects
to the chickens for meat and eggs .
. not sure if grass-eating animals will eat insects,
but if they'll eat mouldy grain out of a trough
they might eat anything!
. until then, the only animal product I can trust is
whey protein isolate and eggland's organic best eggs .
(I actually have to do without organic eggland's in my area
but eggs are very important brain food
and low-sat'fats = low-grain fed .)

fungal feet rising with free-diet elderly

5.14: news.health/
heavy skin or nail growth can be fungal infection:

Dr. Leonard Vekkos, a podiatrist
toenails seem to thicken as we get older?
The most common issue is the development of a fungus infection
called onychomycosis.
. diabetes or other medical conditions
create an immuno-compromised state
or a decreased circulation to the toenails .
Q. what fungus treatments are available?
A. The thickness caused by fungus can cause skin infections
that can lead to serious problems.
In general, many fungal infections can be treated by
debridement (trimming and cleaning) in order to relieve discomfort.

news.health/foot care to avoid fungal infection:
Here are 4 simple, yet powerful, tips to keep in mind:
    Don’t share your nail file [need Dog Nail Clippers?]
    Wear the right shoe size [Fergie Captive Women's Boots]
    Don’t go barefoot [Perimeter GTX Boots]
    Hydrate your cuticles with oils, like oil of oregano
