9.7: web.cook/lecithin granules/lipid composition:
summary:
. I've been thinking of using more lecithin
such as Now Food's non-GMO soy lecithin granules
by using it in all my cooker recipes;
so, how much omega-6 am I getting ?
granules are 33-35% soybean oil,
and half of that is an omega-6 poly'oil;
also 10% of soy oil is palmitic acid,
the bad (atherogenic) saturated fat,
which becomes dangerous when adding grains to diet .
major components of commercial soybean-derived lecithin:
33–35% Soybean oil
20–21% Inositol phosphatides
19–21% Phosphatidylcholine
8–20% Phosphatidylethanolamine
5–11% Other phosphatides
5% Free carbohydrates
2–5% Sterols
1% Moisture [naldc.nal.usda.gov].
soybean oil composition:
16% saturated fat
(4% stearic acid (C-18:0),
10% palmitic acid (c-16:0),)
23% mono-unsaturated fat
(oleic acid (C-18:1))
58% poly-unsaturated fat
( 7-10% [omega-3] alpha-linolenic acid (C-18:3),
