In the aftermath of 9/11, [an inside job]

the United States focused on al-Qaida,
and the nation made significant progress
[surrounding Iran with NATO bases in {Iraq,Afghanistan}]
But the [anti-zionist] threat has changed and morphed
into the Arab Spring
and the [civil wars] in Syria and Iraq:
In many places there is a lack of governance.
. the terrorist group ISIL
(Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant)
also known as ISIS
(the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham)
[would create a Sunni theocracy that captures]
Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait
and the current state of Israel;
it is powered by 20 million disenfranchised Sunnis
living between Damascus, Syria, and Baghdad .
. [such an extensive Sunni Islamic state]
would fundamentally alter the face of the Middle East
and certainly threaten {zionists, usa} in many ways.
. ISIS is a serious representation of [fueled by]
some global terrorist [anti-zionist, anti-colonialist] groups:
loosely connected, in some cases affiliated,
they run from Afghanistan across the Arabian Peninsula
into Yemen to the Horn of Africa
and into North and West Africa .
It is possible to contain ISIS, but not in perpetuity.
