Psalms 22 as predicting christ's trial/kjv:
re: my 13.3.1 post:
I do believe Jesus was a great prophet
(I'm still learning about "messiah"s)
but before you think Psalms 22 is about him,
you should get a real translation of the bible!

Taylor Jones 12:26 AM:
The King James Bible uses theme:
Masoretic Text of the Hebrews,
and the correct Greek text of the
Christians at Antioch.
The New Testament will often state what is being fulfilled, concerning what was written in the Old Testament. [And He said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning Me. - Luke 24:44, KJV]
. today's research has found errors in
first translations like King James;
here are 2 possible references I found .
1: [bible.org]
. the Greek text which stands behind the King James Bible2: [ucg.org]
is demonstrably inferior in certain places.
... Probably most textual critics today
fully embrace the doctrine of the Trinity
(and, of course, all evangelical textual critics do).
And most would like to see the Trinity
explicitly taught in 1 John 5:7-8.
But most reject this reading as an invention of
some overly zealous scribe.
The problem is that the King James Bible is filled with
readings which have been created by
overly zealous scribes!
Very few of the distinctive King James readings
are demonstrably ancient.
Another serious mistake in the King JamesTaylor Jones 10:10 AM:
and New King James versions
is in 1 John 5:7-8
. The latter part of verse 7
and first part of verse 8
did not appear in the Greek texts
for the first 1,000 years
after the Scriptures were completed.
Around the year 500 this portion appeared
in the Latin version known as the Vulgate.
Apparently the insertion was an attempt to bolster
the then-controversial belief in the Trinity.
The words added are as follows:
"in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit;
and these three are one.
And there are three that bear witness on earth."
None of the Greek manuscripts of the New Testament
up to the year 1300 contain these words.
"The textual evidence is all against 1 John 5:7
. Of all the Greek manuscripts,
there are only two which contain it.
These two manuscripts are of very late dates,
one from the fourteenth or fifteenth century
and the other from the sixteenth century.
Both clearly show this verse to be
translated from the Latin"
(Neil Lightfoot, How We Got the Bible, 1963, pp. 57-58).
Apparently monks who copied the Greek New Testament text
in the 14th or 15th century
added this verse from the Vulgate.
Even the Catholic Jerusalem Bible admits
this verse is not authentic and has left it out.
The KJV is not inferior, but superior.14.1238: me:
If you examine the texts for yourself
you will see that is so.
The modern versions use the text of Alexandria (Egypt),
this was the center for Gnosticism.
The modern versions are propagated by the
ecumenical churches.
They are vatican versions.
Westcott and Hort were two spiritists
involved in the Hermes Club, Ghostly Guild, channeling.
I could go on... but look up
Serious Omissions in the NIV by Keith Piper PDF.
I was hoping you would start your
proof of KJV's superiority
by disproving or discrediting the references I gave;
I'm sorry I could not examine the texts myself;
I speak only english .
. I don't speak from a place of authority,
I just intuitively trusted the authors of
the Bible in Basic English
because they are just academics,
saying they uncovered a lot of
prior translation errors .
. they don't seem to be defending their culture,
their religion, or their parents .
"the truth shall set you free".
