. Sprouts has a good selection of organics;
they stock Certified Humane pastured eggs;
and I will be using their brand of sardines.
. today I tried the Sprouts sardines
with no added salt or BPA.
. if the daily sodium should be
the usa Daily Value (2400 mg per day);
and you don't get sodium from other sources,
then you can eat 9 cans of Sprouts sardines
compared with 5 cans of typical sardines.

I was surprised at how salty Sprouts tasted
(what are they actually doing in Morocco?);
anyway, salt is not really evil:
those with hypertension really need
less sugars (glucose and fructose)
and more greens.
. other important advice for staying healthy
is to minimize omega-6 oils,
especially arachidonic acid;
and eat more sardines (small wild fish)
or use distilled omega-3 oils from fish
to best minimize PCB's, dioxin and mercury
that are found in even the smallest fish,
lowest on the food chain, and not farm-raised.

has an error:
it says there is 1 serving per container;
but says serving size is 85g,
while the container says it contains
124g (4.375oz).
. says 85g of the fish contains
170mg sodium (7% dv); so there is
248 g sodium per container
(170/85 = 2 mg sodium/g; 2 * 124 g).
. compare Wild Planet with sea salt:
468.75 g sodium per container
(210mg sodium/56g fish;
210/56 = 3.75 mg sodium/g; 3.75*125).
conclusions:
. nice to see my favorite store
takes sardines seriously,
putting their own brand on it.

the can I opened almost needed a can opener;
it was very resistant toward the end
(prefer complete opening to clean the can
to make it acceptable for recycling).
. if the package says the serving size is 85g;
it should say it contains 1.47 servings;
not 1 serving;
but practically they should admit
the usual serving size is an entire can;
so they should say the serving size is 124g.
