cosmical physics

news.phy/aether/cosmical physics:
2.4:
. in the late 1800's science was evolving rapidly
and people became excited about "cosmical physics"
but that term seemed to die out after wwI (1919)
when aether theories were seen as disproved,
and Einstein's relativity principle was introduced.
. astrophysics is about objects we can see;
the cosmical physics would include empty space,
and the free energy that is found there.

. I wondered if this avoidance of "cosmical physics"
was to bury history leading to free energy aether theories;
ie, there really is an interest in cosmical physics
but it is now classified a military secret.
2.6:
. meteorology was not considered a real science?
remember what Dr.Judy Wood said about tornadoes,
that they seemed to involve some Tesla physics,
antigravity and molecular disassociation,
as was seen in the Hutchison effect and 9/11
when the towers were dustified.

ice age coming soon

11: news.pol/energy/ice age coming soon:
thedailysheeple:
The 2004 annual meeting of the American Geophysical Union
saw evidence that proved beyond doubt that a
massive and profound global cooling event
happened 5,200 years ago,
and some think it's about to happen again:
Lonnie Thompson is a professor of
geological sciences at Ohio State,
he is also a researcher at
Byrd Polar Research Center.
His specialty is ice core analysis.
.
This cold period was preceded by a period of warming
that lasted several decades
and by reduced solar activity.
. just like 5,200 years ago,
the Sun is showing the lowest activity for a century.
Predictions for solar cycle 25 are that
there may not be any sunspots at all.
.
Lonnie Thompson is concerned that
history may be about to repeat itself.
. global cooling will kill hundreds of millions
yet the government is only worried about warming .

Russia agro' uses sun more wisely than USA

12.11: news.pol/energy/Russia agro' uses sun more wisely than USA:
In 2011, 40% of Russia’s food
was grown on dachas (cottage gardens or allotments).
Dacha gardens produced
66+% of the vegetables,
80+% of the fruit and berries,
49% of the nation’s milk, much of it consumed raw.
79% of the potatoes
In 1999, 35 million Dachnik plots produced,
77% of vegetables,
87% of fruits,
49% of milk
90% of Russia’s potatoes,
59% of meat .

worsening weather from EM field pollution?

10.23: news.phy/increasing radio waves and risk of hutchison effect:
Dr.Wood warns of electromagnetic pollution:
. the Hutchison Effect releases  dramatic amounts of energy
by combining a static field with self-canceling radio signals,
that turn transverse waves into longitudinal pulses
in the electromagnetic fabric that light and radio travels on .
. the smart meters, wifi, cell, and digital tv
are increasing the amount of interfering signals
that could accidently produce the Hutchison effect .
. the increase in supercell weather events
has coincided with the emergence of
new radio frequency transmission towers
for the digital television switchover in 2009.

Beyond Coal

7.13: news.pol/energy/
natural gas is cheaper than coal!:

. a natural, capitalistic reason to dump coal
has finally arrived -- yahoo!!

the Production Tax Credit:

Mary Anne Hitt @sierraclub.org
date:     Thu, Jul 26, 2012 at 5:00 AM
subject:     Tell Congress: We Can't Wait!

Tell Congress, we can't wait.
Urge them to support incentives for clean energy today!
Scaling up wind and solar power
will not only help reduce our dependence on
dirty coal and other fossil fuels
that are driving climate disruption and extreme weather;
it will also help support
tens of thousands of American jobs
in the growing clean-energy industry.
The bad news is that Congress is on the verge of
letting the wind energy Production Tax Credit expire,
jeopardizing tens of thousands of jobs,
and forcing America to continue relying on the
dirty energy sources that are threatening our climate.
Tell Congress to extend the Production Tax Credit
and ensure that a job-creating industry
can keep up the fight against climate disruption.
With tens of thousands of jobs,
a growing clean-energy industry,
and our future on the line,
there's no time to waste.
Thanks for all you do to protect our environment!
Sincerely,
Mary Anne Hitt
Beyond Coal Campaign Director
Sierra Club
Congress: Support Clean Energy and Curb Climate Disruption!
As drought decimates half the country
and wildfires rage in Nebraska and Arizona,
it's all too easy for Americans to see
the effects of climate disruption.
More than 3,800 temperature records were
broken in the first week of July,
and things aren't exactly getting better.

Tell Congress to extend the Production Tax Credit
and ensure a job-creating industry can continue to
keep up the fight against climate disruption.
    Complete the form below with your information.
send your message to:
        Senator Jon Kyl
        Senator John McCain III
        Representative Ron Barber

Thank you for signing our petition
to mitigate climate disruption!
.  the Production Tax Credit (PTC)
to support wind power development
has not yet been renewed.
. it's ironic that some are now worried about
jobs in the clean energy industry;
because, the main cause of global warming
was giving all our manufacturing jobs to China
-- we did that exactly because they have
an utter lack of pollution regulations;
but even if we did our own work cleanly,
the rest of the world might still use China's
care-free coal burning services .
. I wouldn't worry about global warming;
but I am worried about our growing poverty
and our inability to handle the new climate .
. we need a Tax credit for not breeding;
and that would reduce unemployment
thereby having the same effect as job creation .

global warming bugs killing trees for fuel #overpopulation vs #ark-investing

7.18: news,co.pol/fires/global warming bugs killing trees for fuel:
climate central org
. the massive fire seasons recently
were the culmination of a trend:
between 1986 and 2003, western forests saw
a nearly fourfold increase in the number of wildfires,
and those fires burned six times the amount of land
and lasted five times as long
when compared with the previous 16 years.
In response, states and the federal government
adopted policies and legislation,
such as the Bush administration’s
Healthy Forest Restoration Act,
which were designed to head off
increasingly catastrophic wildfires
by thinning forests and reintroducing fire
to areas that were overgrown with fuel
from a century of fire suppression.
Some wildfires would be allowed to burn
in hopes of improving overall forest health.
The fires, however, have continued to grow
in size, frequency, and intensity,
while the policies meant to tame them
have sputtered and stalled.
Air quality issues
increasingly limit the number of days when
prescribed burns can be lit,
and the public is often resistant to them,
particularly after incidents in which
forest managers lose control .
Residents of fire-prone landscapes
are often unwilling to cut down the trees they love,
even when removing a few trees increases their safety.
And building with fire-resistant materials
is often more expensive
and doesn’t fit with mountain traditions.
. between 2000 and 2010,
more than 100,000 people moved into
Colorado’s most flammable forests .
. global warming means that
bugs are killing more trees,
so we have a lot more to burn through;
and, there's less water in the area
to naturally suppress that burning .
Wildfires nationwide cost the federal government
up to $3 billion annually
— twice what they cost a decade ago.
Today wildfires take up nearly half
of the U.S. Forest Service’s budget,
up from 13 % in 1991.
. even with climate change,
the real problem is that people who should be
investing in fire prevention systems
like irrigating the property around them,
are instead relentlessly spending on
expanding the population .
. use solar energy to pump oceans into deserts
and this will make solar do more desalination too .
. the problem is not too much affluence,
it is too much poverty:
high-tech could survive global warming;
but this 3rd-world mentality cannot .

biofuel & TEG electricity sources

7.30: gear/pedgen powered by wood-burning turbine:
. a great way to produce energy while mobile
is to use a wood-burning steam engine
to power a windmill's electricity generator .
. go to a national park where there is forest litter,
and burn it in a steam engine,
that drives that the generator
that recharges your batteries .
9.25: summary:
. with that thought in mind,
I set about looking for equipment that
already does such wood burning,
and I found an even better idea:
thermoelectric generators (TEG)
-- converting heat into electricity .
. existing TEG-based camper products
include the $129 BioLite CampStove .

7.7: gear/mobi/compressed natural gas will save us:
. after trying cycling with a mobile home,
it occurred to me that I might need
quite a bit of distance to find safe places to park it
given I spend time at the city's library
but there are often city-wide bans on car-camping .
. the healthiest economical engine
runs on compressed natural gas
and many cars are converting to this
(4 million in latin america).

the spirits and molecules of autism

6.22:
. this file started out as a political issue
-- 5.20/pol/energy/Autism related to Coal's mercury --
but mercury policy has improved
while autism rates have increased,
so, it's been reassigned as a health issue .
7.10:
. however, it may also be a socioeconomic issue
as worsening underemployment
increases reliance on children's disability payments .
. nevertheless,
even if parents were encouraging the diagnosis
for collecting child disability payments,
there is still evidence of increased autism risk
from environmental pollutants
(pcb's, pesticides, estrogenics, mercury)
and a degraded food supply quality
(increased use of gmo's, pesticides,
and herbicides -- thanks to gmo's;
non-organic farming creates a lack of
selenium in food
which is needed to counteract mercury).
7.9:
. another theory explaining increased autism
is what I call two-headed dominance syndrome
where one of the heads tends to submit
in order to let the other head take control .
. likewise, in sociology,
when a population starts to feel
a loss of economic opportunities
there may tend to be more silent tension,
and an increase in dependent personalities .

. at the same time, unique to our times
is a tendency to demand much more of students;
whereas, in the past,
the developmentally challenged may have been
understood to be simply a rowdy or lonely laborer .

anti-solar sees environmentalists depopulating

4.7: co.pol/energy/the dirt on solar doesn't include wind:
Robert Llewellyn 4:37 PM today:
[!] (a cartoon about solar failing because big energy co's
don't own anything that could let it corner the market )
Nathan Buth:
-  Solar energy being clean is a lie at the moment.
To make solar cells more toxic chemicals are released than even coal.
Plus the size of the area and the amount of cells
to even be equivalent to other energy sources is ridiculous.
Nuclear is the cleanest and most efficient way at the moment.
By the way the comic should say for the solar part
we own the silicon... XD
me:
@Nathan Buth, so who needs solar cells:
wind power alone could supply all our needs;
got some dirt on wind mills?
Mike Rees:
-  It's worth noting that wind turbines are currently 60% subsidised,
and have 75% fossil fuel backup generation.
They're not clean and they're not cost effective.
me:
@Mike Rees
. it may be true that wind turbines are currently
60% subsidised, and have 75% fossil fuel backup generation;
but that's not wind's problem:
instead of subsidising green energy
we could sin-tax fossil fuels
to make them pay for all the cancer they cause;
and then we could use ethanol or other biofuels
for a less toxic backup generation .
. therefore, clean and price-competitive .
Sheila Nagig 8:18 PM
  I think micro-hydro is being overlooked. Wind and sun are great,
but water actually makes a lot of sense in terms of facilitating
a relatively easy transition to sustainable energy.
We already have hundreds if not thousands of defunct water mills
rotting away out there. Rig them to generate power
and decentralize the grid a little bit
by having river communities power themselves.
me:
+1 [@] (show approval)
[5.17:
. later, I would realize
we weren't thinking of the same thing at all, really;
I had in mind some coastal tidal turbine plans
which could stay of of sight, unlike windmills;
and they would be so powerful and remote
they don't really help without being part of a grid .

. the hate directed at solar is really about
seeing environmentalists are trying to
control population by
making it more expensive to live .]

-- hey that's excellent gov'ing too!!)

10.1: proj.gov/vote/city :

prop#400:
400 - YES http://www.keeptucsonfirst.com/
. I think it's complicated or unfair
to have property tax;
because what if you were poor
but worked hard to save for a nice house,
then the property tax makes you rent it out?
a property tax only makes sense if you assume
a property will generate income .
. I agreed with other spokanites (1984..2006)
that income tax is less regressive
than a sales tax;
but here in tucson, we have so many seniors
that have no taxable income;
the best way to find seniors with
other wealth to tax
is to have a sales tax on luxury items .
. the details of the proposed sales tax,
however,
lead me to think we should
hold out for a better deal;
one commenter claims:
. tucson's combined personal income is $24M
yet it employs 239 at > $100k;
(. if you include corporate income and perhaps assets
some for prop#401 are calling tucson a $1B business [gdp])
. if all employees would take a
1% pay cut per $10k of salary,
our city budget would have  a surplus again .
10.2:
. one problem with voting no on this
is that they may have a contract
promising not reduce salaries
nor fire them without a long notice .
. there may also be some reality
to fears that lower salary will bring
lower quality mgt .
. ironically, it's the con's that point out
this gov' pays too much on overtime:
that's an example of trying to cut jobs
only to inflate the use of other jobs .
. what if lowering salaries had
similar unintended consequences ?
not so ironically,
the objector's point is that
overtime is a symptom of the same
high-salary disease:
. what if we could restructure
to make the system's constitution
more quality-oriented
rather than depend on a few key players
being responsible in the dark?
. I just won't vote on this one .
10.10:

barking about obamacare;

you are either a selfish hypocrite
or a racist or a jews-should-zionist .]
. con's say this reduces local democracy
(more power to unelected)
--
. how are successful businesses
electing their mgt?
seems we do a lot of voting

http://www.daveforarizona.org/html/sustainability.html

and here's his blog .
http://daveforarizona.blogspot.com/
. his talk on relocalization is here .
http://daveforarizona.blogspot.com/p/what-is-relocalization.html

A global growth economy
based on cheap and abundant
fossil fuels
to both grow and transport our food
thousands of miles,
and to supply the raw materials
for the cheap plastic throwaway goods
we've come to rely on,
is quickly drawing to a close.
We are not going to see an economic recovery,
because we are not in a recession.
We are at the end of a
historic period in human civilization.
. the American Dream
as presented by Wall Street,
Madison Avenue, Hollywood,
and the rest of corporate media
really is a mere dream
because one must be
asleep to believe it.

. we must rebuild our local economies;
recapture our sense of place;
reclaim our sovereignty;
and restore our communities.
. relocalization is the antidote to
growth, corporate globalization,
manifest destiny, and individualism.

Rather than trying to be competitive in a
global economy that's heading south
--in more ways than one--
we have the opportunity to become
global leaders in sustainable,
local living economies.
using steady-state economics,
a whole-systems approach
to creating
an alternative public infrastructure
that exists within
a bioregion's carrying capacity.

As a concrete strategy,
relocalization moves production of
food, goods and energy
closer to the point of consumption,
increases food and energy security,
and empowers local decisions
in the development of
currency, culture, and governance.
. in addition to
protecting local economies from the
slow drain of an export economy,
relocalization goes a step further
with a commitment to
reduce consumption, waste,
and to improve
environmental and social conditions.

Relocalizing means building
community networks of mutual support.
It means more family farms
(many, many more)
and making sure they're not
forced to sell out to developers.
It means living wage jobs
in clean, zero-waste industries
that use renewable energy;
that focus on
rebuilding our local economic base,
recapturing the skills and craftsmanship
we're lost to
overseas off-shoring, outsourcing
and the model of industrial efficiency
that puts quantity above quality.

As an added bonus,
living wage jobs also directly address
the issues of affordable housing and poverty.
Relocalization means
making our cities human-friendly
and less reliant on cars.
Less asphalt and more trees
means less urban heat island effect
and more natural carbon uptake.

Plus, rebuilding, renovating, and remodeling
for low-impact, energy-efficient
homes, businesses and infrastructure
will keep local construction industries
busy for decades to come.

In addition to supporting
the strategy of relocalization,
Dave Ewoldt will help the
Transition Movement
http://www.transitionus.org/
support and inspire
community led responses
around the relocalization strategy.

A Transition Initiative
is a community-led response
to the pressures of
climate change,
fossil fuel depletion
and increasingly, economic contraction.
There are thousands of initiatives
around the world including
Transition towns, cities, villages, universities,
churches and more .

Tucson midtown party status:
36,000 Democrats,
22,000 Republicans and
24,000 others
according to downing, but,
Aboud said
Democrats are left out of the loop
because of the large Republican majority.
[at the state leg?
perhaps that is true because
the indep's are voting for repub's still .]

. downing moved to indep because of
grid lock:
the parties require voting with the party
but that under-serves a place
with few votes like tucson;
the jobs were in construction,
the plans now are to lobby state and fed
for earmarks that bring jobs;
and also to support microlending
to spur jobs like india has .
. downing does have a good chance;
but, dave is the better ideas man;
however,
I fear dave will just be a billboard
for the future .

Downing said he endorsed Goddard.
Ewoldt said he would likely align with Goddard
but disappointed Goddard wasn't showing

Ewoldt ditched the Green Party label

Ewoldt said of Downing:

are really promising;
I don't usually let greens
steal votes from the dem's;
but, this race is really between 2 dem's;
if you pick green this time
then you get some discussion rolling;
if Aboud wins you get more gridlock;
if downing wins you get less .
. both of the dem's act like
dave is not a threat at all,
that downing might let the repub in
when the repubs are a minority in tucson .
. dave said real things about job loss
that the dem's simply ignored (hid from:
"(omg, dave's a political bomb,
while we're just a pop'bomb! ...)).

. who are the az greens reputed to be?

Dave Croteau ran for mayor of Tucson in 2007

. greens hosted the notorious nader campaign
that clinched the bush presidency .
. we should embrace relocalization (jobs)
but what does dave think of
mobilizing for jobs via
earmarks on fed and state bills ?
. the bottom line is that
if you've been voting dem's
just to get close to the green menu,
now you have 2 dem's and a green:
hello?

10.11: county info:

clerk of superior court: noland

[letting the incumbent remain]
http://azstarnet.com/news/local/govt-and-politics/elections/article_2493c7cc-2604-5fc2-9dee-62c0d2dd968c.html
difrank challenges noland
The challenger says the online records issue
is stalled by the incumbent
who says the issue is in the hands of
the Arizona Supreme Court,
which is currently working on other projects,
Noland said.

http://www.tucsonweekly.com/tucson/courting-votes/Content?oid=2219062
DiFrank worked for Noland
after Noland's first election,
and was fired after 10 months.
DiFrank says she expects Noland to characterize her
as an angry ex-employee,
but that she runs because
she feels her experience
makes her very qualified
for this public office like no other:
she runs an investigations firm
that often works on criminal legal cases,
and holds a master's degree in
public service management .

While she worked under Noland,
DiFrank disagreed with
what she considered to be
unqualified hires.
. one current staff member
helped Noland with campaigns
when the clerk served as a state legislator,
and another is a fellow Republican
and former state legislator
voted out of office in 2006.
Those employees both make more than $90,000.
Noland's salary, which is set by the
Board of Supervisors, is $76,600.
[. this could also be a loyalty thing;
says they still get paid
less than those doing the same job
on some other branch .]
DiFrank also complains
Noland is not putting all
criminal and civil court records online
as required by Arizona law.
Currently,
records are available at the
Pima County Courthouse,
where four computers are used for searches,
and copies cost 50 cents per page.
"She's just not willing to make public access
fully available,"
DiFrank says.
Regarding DiFrank's criticism about
public records, Noland says that
the Arizona Supreme Court has
asked all counties to have all records
go through the same portal for online access.
"They don't have it ready yet.
(DiFrank would) be in the same place,"
Noland says.
[I couldn't understand this argument;
because the records appear to be somewhat online
and are linked to the main site;
so, why put up the search site
if not connecting the entire base?
maybe the search site is recent .]
"... She wants it to seem as if
I am against transparency,
but that's just not my intention."
Instead, Noland says she has
worked to make records more accessible
by creating the system that
allows the public to access records
on the second floor of the courthouse.

Noland adds that DiFrank's company, Info-Tracts,
does work for Storts' office,
and she wonders how DiFrank
would separate herself from the business,
which she owns with her husband,
Terry Frederick.
The business works closely with
area attorneys and court cases
throughout the state
—and DiFrank would have access to
records that could potentially
benefit her business.
DiFrank says she recognizes
the potential conflict,
but has plans to "pass the baton"
to a different business partner
if she is elected.

 John Pedicone, vice-president of the conservative
 Southern Arizona Leadership Council,
has a “horrible record when he was at Flowing Wells
and certainly represents the inverse relationship”
of supporting ethnic studies,
according to Martinez, the lawyer fighting HB2281
on behalf of the ethnic studies teachers .

global warming -- getting warm

10.07: co.apt/pol/global warming -- getting warm:
. what if we couldn't help global warming,
because the main heat was coming from earth's core?
the solar magnetism shakes the earth crust,
to release more of it .
. more definitely,
the main problem with policing global warming
is it's basically caused by pop'explosion;
if we did reduce warming, and the pop kept expanding,
what then, are we asked to ride in go carts?
. but usa cars do make it so hard to be thrifty:
if I work an hour how far can I drive?
oh, about 3miles, since your insur'is so high
because you're riding a 2000 lb islamo-class bomb;
what is that 2000 lb about ?
your safety and cheap steel .
. what if we could have aluminum velo'motorcycles;
cycles with sleek shells?
they could get 300mpg, and be comfortable,
out of the weather and wind;
then if we also reduced population,
we could convert food crops to fuel crops,
growing ethanol for our engines, nice clean fuel;
and we'd get less cancer on that clean fuel .

Energy Security (perhaps) Saves (a lot of) Lives

8.29: co.pol/Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords/energy/Energy Security Saves Lives:
. if this warming is a problem at all,
its real significance is multiplied by
 the size of population;
therefore,
the problem will be solving itself:
if the planet becomes unlivable to
those without high-tech shelters,
then population size will be reduced to
those who have high-tech shelters,
and with the size loss
will go the problem .
. it's just like the biblical Noah's flood:
the weather will be leaving behind
only the god-fearing (tech-loving) guys .
