4-star/a method with some proven success:

. Parker claims she found a cure for

her own Social Anxiety, and implies that

the cure came from techniques

that she has documented in this book.

. p13 had the very good point that

the book's methods are not likely to work if

you don't believe it will work.

. you don't need to believe in a god,

but you do need to believe in yourself.

. you need to believe in science's or spirit's

ability to cure your Social Anxiety.

. "the feeling that everyone is against you,

including your own mind" [p20]

-- that reminded me of schizophrenia

where the mind is split into a self and a

supernatural entity like a god or demon

that is troubling the self or lying to it:

. it can feel like everyone is against you when

the spirit is telepathically connecting you with others

and the connection it creates is not warm:

it is trying to make others turn against you.

. "your thoughts are lying;

you don't have to listen to them"[p27];

Parker[p49] claims that anxiety can

"manipulate reality" (cause unrealistic thoughts)

--that's another way your mind lies to you.

. that too is what schizophrenia is like;

and that is the part of the illness that

set me free.

. as a child I believed all my thoughts were from me;

but when some thoughts seemed to come from

a lying or framing spirit of telepathy,

I questioned all my thoughts: what is me?

and then "what should be me?" -- great question!

. and it all began with schizophrenia.

. Parker notes social anxiety prevents one from

living an ordinary teenage life,

such as doing forbidden things [p21];

if your anxiety comes from a demon

telepathically outing your forbidden acts,

that would put some anxiety into such acts!

. one comical side effect of the therapy of

"confronting your fears"

is that you may get canceled or jailed.

. p62 reminds us that just like your mind

lies to you about how bad things are,

you can lie to your negativity mind

about how good things actually are,

and your emotion maker will believe you.

("fake it till you make it").

. p50 has a common coach's white lie:

( it may reduce social anxiety to believe that

people really aren't being judgmental:

they are more worried about themselves.

). if people are anything like me,

they may act nice but in their heart

they are such petty judges.

. but I may be worse than most because

I'm possessed by a tendency to isolate:

the demon looks to cut ties in both directions,

claiming that neither of us is worth socializing,

focusing on minor flaws instead of

how much we have to offer as experienced humans.

. p74 presents "cardiac coherence" as a breathing exercise

and if you thought there must be more to it than that,

Parker adds there are "many app[sic] and Youtube to help you."

p74 also said it's about slowing your heart,

but others claim it's about

reducing heart rate variability.

Dr. Rollin McCraty, in the article:

"Enhancing Emotional, Social, and Academic Learning

With Heart Rhythm Coherence Feedback"

says a key to increasing "heart rhythm coherence"

is to focus on a positive emotion

such as gratitude or appreciation.

. but certainly controlled breathing may help with

taking control of your emotion maker.

. the heartmath institute site says that

it helps to get some biofeedback

that measures your "heart rate variability".

"Coherence tech tells you when you’re actually in

the physiological state of heart rhythm coherence".

. Parker encourages the anxious to seek help;

because it's a "serious mental health condition"[p111].

. if you seek help for Social Anxiety disorder,

prepare to be checked for Schizophrenia too.

. any evidence you have of telepathy

will be seen as evidence of hallucination,

and almost surely a sign of schizophrenia,

because telepathy is considered impossible,

and thus a "bizarre delusion".

. by the way, the drugs for Schizophrenia

are often good at reducing anxiety,

but they can have some harsh side effects.

. most increase the risk of cancer in animals;

and most often cause obesity and diabetes,

except for Geodon, which has considerably improved

my social anxiety disorder,

with no serious side effects in 10 years

except my heart is rather weak,

and it ached until I found D-ribose and carnitine.
