least-hassle way to get cash from using Bing search:
. google is an important search engine
being my only access to some finds;
but the Microsoft Rewards program
gives you amazon cash for searching with Bing.com;
so I set my browser's default search engine to bing,
and keep google in my bookmarks bar for quick access.
. during days of research or reading news online,
I have hundreds of simple questions that bing is good at,
such as word definitions and spellings,
along with most of my questions about
health, politics, and religion.
. there is a limit of 150 points per day;
at 5 points per search, that is 30 searches.
more about earning points.
. in 2020 I get $10 for 10,500 points (70 days);
practically, I earned about $20 in 1.5 years.
. you can get a bing account here.
if you set bing as your default search engine
then opening a new page takes you to bing.com
and the top right of the page
should show your name;
otherwise you need to sign in,
and tell it to keep you signed in;
but also check routinely that it stays that way;
or else the points don't apply to your account.
. bing can pay you in several ways;
I prefer amazon gift cards.
. you can redeem $10 worth of points at a time;
only the first time it asks you to
enter a code that they sent to your phone
as a 2-step verification that it's you;
so it is easiest to save a lot of points
and then do multiple redemptions in a row.
. if they are slow about sending you
the email that has your amazon gift code,
you can instead look in your orderhistory:
and on that page click the [order details].button,
which will show you the Claim Code
that is needed by amazon's gift card redeem page.
(bing sends you that link in the email).
